Mac OS X 10.6.3 开始测试 版本号10D522
苹果开始向部分开发人员和测试者发放Mac OS X 10.6.3的首个Beta外部测试版本，版本号为10D522，这将是Snow Leopard操作系统的第三款维护性升级包。
距离Mac OS X 10.6.2发布已经有近两个月的时间，在这期间苹果对代码进行了大量修正。据测试者称，10.6.3首个测试版容量即达到655.7MB，包含221处修正，涉及92种系统组件。其中仅可能导致程序或系统崩溃的Bug修正就接近60项。
据称苹果早在12月初就开始计划开放测试Mac OS X 10.6.3，但最终决定推迟到圣诞假期过后。在此之前，10.6.3的内部测试已经经过至少15个版本。
在10D522版本中，目前仍留有四处已知问题，涉及iTunes、程序升级、显示设置以及ColorSync模块，预计Mac OS X 10.6.3还将经过多次测试版升级才会正式向外界发布。
苹果终于开始了对Mac OSX 10.6.3版本更新补丁的大范围测试，这个版本的补丁是苹果针对其雪豹操作系统推出的第三个升级补丁，此前苹果发布的Beta版补丁中已经对90多个系统部件中存在的Bug进行了修补，并且进一步提升了系统的稳定性。
据透露，苹果首次对外发布的补丁版本，容量为665.7MB的Mac OS X 10.6.3 build 10D522补丁文件中共对92个系统部件的221处代码进行了修正。
这些系统部件中最引人注目的项目包括AppKit，CoreMedia，Desktop Services, FileSync, Fonts, HIToolbox, iCal, Mail, MobileMe, 以及QuickTime Player X播放器等。
其它得到增强的功能还包括雪豹的自动拼写检查功能，并对使用AppKit，the Dock, iCal, Mail, Photo Booth, Rosetta, Spotlight, Screen Sharing, 以及软件升级等功能的同时进行打印工作时可能会出现系统崩溃的现象进行了修补。据称build10D522中共对近60处可能引起系统崩溃的代码进行了修改。
另外新版补丁还对周三发布的beta版本补丁程序中存在的问题进行了修补，包括iTunes异常挂起，以及在部分应用程序升级过程中，或打开显示属性面板等情况下出现的异常现象。
一个月以前，苹果便已经推出了10.6.3版补丁的beta版本，随后苹果又推出并评估了将近15款新的beta补丁版本，不过他们选择在圣诞假日过后才公开放出新的beta版补丁。
此前的最近一次更新补丁程序Mac OSX10.6.2正式版本的发布日期是去年11月份。这个补丁中修正了一个当使用访客帐户登录登出系统后，有可能造成用户帐户数据被删除的Bug。另外这个补丁中还加入了对苹果新款多点触摸式鼠标Magic Mouse的原生支持。
时间再往回后退两个月，在去年的9月份，苹果推出了Mac OSX 10.6.1正式版补丁，当时距离Mac OSX10.6操作系统的发布日期只有两周的时间，这次补丁升级程序对系统的稳定性，兼容性以及安全性进行了修补。
